Protectedpdf Data Sheets

All of the following data sheets have been secured using the protectedpdf technology. To gain full access to a document, simply fill out and submit the form on its cover page. Vitrium values your privacy and any information provided when unlocking the data sheets will never be shared with third parties.

Why Choose protectedpdf?

Why Choose ProtectedpdfOnline publishers have problems with document security. Unauthorized access to and redistribution of documents violates their intellectual property rights and damages revenues. Software is available that can prevent this sort of document misuse but, in doing so, it generally makes document access significantly more difficult for authorized readers. With protectedpdf you can identify unauthorized document use and prevent it, thereby securing your intellectual property rights and revenues, without inconveniencing your legitimate readers.

What is protectedpdf?

What is ProtectedpdfProtectedpdf is a document rights management and monitoring solution for PDF. With protectedpdf you can protect your content and monitor the movement of your documents. Your readers can access the protected content easily, without the use of additional plug-ins or proprietary software. Protectedpdf represents a fundamentally new approach to content security because it applies protection to individual pages, instead of entire documents – selected pages can be read by everyone, others are accessible only to authorized readers.

How it Works

How protectedpdf worksUsing Vitrium's online interface, you can convert your PDF documents into protectedpdffiles. Once a document has been distributed, your readers are able to pass it along but the file always travel in a locked form. Authorized readers are able to unlock the content by entering certain information into the document’s cover page. This information is validated online and the protected content is immediately unlocked. Even after the file has been distributed, you are able to alter access rights or update the document.

Network Topology

Network TopologyA protectedpdf file generally includes a cover page which allows your readers to enter their credentials directly into the document. Once entered, a reader’s credentials are transferred to the protectedpdf server, along with data identifying the document and the computer being used to access it. The server transmits this information to your External Identity Provider (EIP) Web service, which responds with a decision. The protectedpdf server processes this decision and instructs the document to perform the required actions.

Security Statement

Security StatementProtectedpdf strikes a delicate balance between ease of use and security. Other PDF security solutions offer stronger protection against the unauthorized use of documents but they create a less satisfying reader experience in the process. Protectedpdf provides an excellent deterrent against document misuse while maintaining a pleasing, effortless user experience. Furthermore, it is under constant review, with the purpose of identifying and eliminating any threats to its effectiveness as a document security measure.
