– Vitrium Systems Inc., a leading provider of PDF protection, tracking and interaction solutions, today announced a partnership with Broadstone Technology Group, LLC at the Eloqua Experience 2010 conference. Broadstone will integrate Vitrium’s PDF lead generation tool, PDFSalesLeads, with Eloqua’s marketing automation database, providing marketers with more leads and increased visibility into who is reading their white papers, datasheets and other PDF-based content.

BroadstoneConnect will allow Eloqua customers to easily embed forms within PDF documents that can be distributed across websites, email campaigns, social media channels and other marketing channels. Information collected from these forms are passed into the Eloqua database in real-time.

“We are excited to provide Eloqua customers with new technology to help increase the number of qualified leads generated by marketing,” shares Jason Trombley, Managing Director at Broadstone. “By leveraging Vitrium’s PDFSalesLeads, this will ease the distribution of PDF content and provide new insight into how and why content is being accessed, which is valuable marketing knowledge.”

“Eloqua customers will be the first to capitalize on this opportunity to drive more leads from their white papers, case studies and other PDF-based content,” says Peter Nieforth, CEO at Vitrium Systems. “PDFSalesLeads provides a better way to capture leads from PDFs as the traditional method of using web forms is limited.

The first day of IMC Vancouver 2010 involved 4 different intense training sessions on various areas of internet marketing. From social media strategy, to setting up pay-per-click campaigns, seminar leaders shared their expertise with attendees.

Vitrium’s booth showcased our PDF lead generation solution – PDFSalesLeads, where our knowledgable sales representatives helped conference attendees understand how they can be leveraging their PDFs to generate more sales leads. Many internet marketers, in particular B2B marketers, gate their PDF documents behind web registration forms that deter visitors from downloading the PDF. PDFSalesLeads embeds a contact form into the PDF, allowing viewers to preview your content (if you want them to). By previewing some of the content, readers are able to engage with the document and assess whether or not they want to read the rest of it. Engaged readers are more willing to provide accurate contact info for your sales department to follow up with!

By Barbara Brynko, LexisNexis

July 1, 2010

Vitrium Systems has discovered more than one method to harness theuntapped information about potential customers within enterprise-driven PDFs.

“We have found ways to control, track, and interact with your PDFs,” says Peter Nieforth, CEO and co-founder of the Vancouver, British Columbia-based Vitrium Systems. Enterprises can now engage more with users who are interacting with their content.

The latest tool in Vitrium’s suite of products is PDFSalesLeads, aweb-based application that lets publishers capture qualified sales leads via interactive forms embedded within a document. Suppose a car manufacturer provides a PDF with the specs on a new car to a potential customer, says Nieforth. The car manufacturer can embed a form in the PDF to set up an appointment for a test drive. The user interest is there already, he says, and the smart-document technology can get the user engaged with the car manufacturer or dealership right on the spot. PDF-SalesLeads captures data on sales leads as readers are interacting with the document, he says, and the embedded forms send the data about these readers directly to the publisher in real time as thedocuments are read, shared, or passed along to others.

“Vitrium’s technology allows the publisher to eliminate the ‘registration gate,’but it can also tell you what’s happening with your PDFs after they have been downloaded,” says Nieforth. The new PDFSalesLeads joins two other tools in the company’s collection of smart-document technology. The company’s flagship product is the Protectedpdf, which has technology built in to gather data and prevent unauthorized access and distribution of a company’s digital content as well as minimize misuse of confidential data. Protectedpdf is available in two versions: Protectedpdf SBE (small-business edition) and Protectedpdf ES(enterprise edition).

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]

The second tool in Vitrium’s toolkit is docmetrics, another built-in product that keeps publishers informed of the user metrics from a PDF. The tool can track who is reading, sharing, and downloading PDF content. Publishers can also follow viewer metrics and gain insights into user behavior to optimize content offerings and maximize ROI. Nieforth says a company can monitor reader usage of a document and findout if most users are only reading up to page 4 of a six-page document, for example. The company may want to rethink the format of the document and condense or remove the last two pages if no one is actually reading them. Likewise, readers may go directly to page 3 of the PDF to focus in on specific content, as directed in pass-along instructions from one reader to another. Docmetrics can keep track of who is reading what and for how long.

But the new PDFSalesLeads cuts to the chase, letting publishers embed forms inside documents to connect with readers as they engage with the content. Documents are viewable using Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader, so PDFSalesLeads offers a transparent reader experience. The smart-document technology can also be integrated seamlessly into any CRMsystem using Salesforce.com.

“Millions of documents are created everyday and sent out by email, posted on websites, or forwarded, and there is no information about what is happening with them,” says Nieforth. Vitrium’s products can give publishers a window into the readers’ world and what content theyfind valuable, he says.

Computex Taipei 2010 has ended for the 30th year and I got to see many great products. Some products are on sale now while other products are concept, pre-commercial or about to head into production and will hit store shelves in the months ahead!

Let’s kick things off with a note about the next wave of mobile computing and our excitement at Vitrium Systems. I wrote earlier this week that, “the PC is dead!” That’s tough to say when there are over a billion personal computers in use. Transformation is occurring with PC’s faster than ever before. Consider that it may be a combination of innovation, connectivity and the cloud! Everything is heading into the cloud with the latest chips, improved power management, and increased functionality with better user interfaces. So at Computex Taipei, I saw an explosion of new devices and new categories all rushing to market. It reminds me of Boujolais nouveau and the race to get the first bottles of the vintage to market.

Our excitement at Vitrium over this next wave of mobile personal computing is because Vitrium’s customers now have the ability to control, track and interact with their documents using mobile computing devices such as the iiView Corporation’s M1touch – Multi Touch Tablet PC. Vitrium’s advantage in the market continues to be our seamless end-user experience and the ability for users to view their documents on mobile devices (like the M1touch) that are already on sale. Which is fantastic!

The M1touch tablet PC was on display at the Microsoft booth at Computex Taipei. Wow it is sleek at 10.1 inches, it has a multi touch screen and weighs in at only 1.2Kg. It is running Microsoft Windows 7 Home and Premium on the Intel Atom N450 processor at 1.66 GHz with 2 GB of RAM and a 250GB hard disk drive. It is fully loaded with 2.0 speakers, 1.3 mega pixel camera, 1 – two in one audio port, 3 USB 2.0, HDMI to VGA, 1 DC port, 1 SIM card slot, 4 in 1 card reader and up to a 3 hour battery. All this for about USD $500!

Microsoft wasn’t letting this out of the case so I photographed the M1touch at the Microsoft booth with the assistance of Magdalena Hyckova, Sales Manager at iiView. Thanks Magdalena, we can’t wait to get our hands on one of these! I didn’t get the date the M1touch went on sale, but Magdalena said it has been out on the market now for about 6+ weeks. The M1touch is one of the very few tablets in the market for sale today!

Asus launched two 3D monitors at Computex Taipei. The 23 inch VG236H LCD monitor and the 27 inch PG276 LCD monitor. I don’t know much about monitors, but these 3D monitors were something else. Could there be a market for 3D PDF’s? Time will tell. These 3D monitors were very cool and are expected to ship at the end of June and the 23 inch will retail for USD $600.

Onkyo DX1007A5B is the first dual display laptop I have ever seen. Made in Japan and available only in Japan, it may be worth the trip just to own the coolest netbook ever! Retailing at about USD$1,000 this netbook has two 10.1 inches displays that fold/slide into a single display. It behaves like a traditional tablet with a turn and flip style display. 2GB of RAM, 320 GB hard disk drive powered by an AMD Neo processor MV-40 at 1.6GHz, 1.3 mega pixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, micro SD slot, USB 2.0, fingerprint sensor, 3.7 hour battery and more! Running Windows 7 Home and Premium, wow, this is impressive. I expected a touch screen and hope for this on future models.

I had a great time at Computex Taipei 2010 and I hope to get back there next year. There’s so much new and exciting technology out there!!

Vitrium Systems Releases PDFSalesLeads – The First Solution to Collect Sales Leads Data from within PDF Documents

New Tool to Find the Right Customers Faster

Taipei, Taiwan – June 8, 2010
Vitrium Systems, a leading technology vendor in smart document technology, announced the Asia Pacific release of PDFSalesLeads today at Smart Cloud Canada being held at the Far Eastern Plaza Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan. PDFSalesLeads is the first web-based application to allow publishers to capture qualified sales leads through interactive forms embedded within PDF documents.

PDFSalesLeads captures sales lead data when readers interact with documents. The embedded interactive forms send information to the publisher in real time when documents are read, shared or passed along.

“Millions of documents are created everyday and sent out by email, posted on websites or forwarded and there is no information about what is happening with them,” said Peter Nieforth, Co-Founder and CEO of Vitrium Systems. “Many websites have marketing brochures, data sheets or other documents, and generally capture no data about who is reading them or what they are doing with them. Vitrium’s technology allows publishers to know what’s happening with their documents after download.”

PDFSalesLeads allows publishers to embed forms inside documents and survey readers as they engage in the content. Because documents are viewable using the free Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader, PDFSalesLeads provides a transparent reader experience and PDFSalesLeads seamlessly integrates into CRM systems such as SalesForce.com.

“We are pleased to showcase innovative technology and companies such as Vitrium Systems to Taiwan’s IT leaders,” said Philippe Rheault, Director, Canadian Trade Office in Taipei. “Vitrium Systems and PDFSalesLeads is an example of innovative software developed and supported by Government of Canada programs such as the Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentive program, one of the world’s most generous tax-based R&D programs.”

SAN FRANCISCO – May 24, 2010 — Vitrium Systems, a leading technology vendor in smart document technology, announced the official launch of PDFSalesLeads today at SIIA NetGain Conference and Road Trip for Innovation. PDFSalesLeads is the first web based application to allow publishers to capture qualified sales leads through interactive forms embedded within documents.

PDFSalesLeads captures sales lead data when readers interact with documents. The embedded interactive forms send information to the publisher in real time when documents are read, shared or passed along.

“Millions of documents are created everyday and sent out by email, posted on web sites or forwarded and there is no information about what is happening with them,” said Peter Nieforth, Co-Founder and CEO of Vitrium Systems. “Many web sites have case studies, whitepapers, data sheets, annual reports or other documents, and currently capture data through initial registration, capturing data at the start. Not only does Vitrium’s technology allow the publisher to eliminate the ‘registration gate’, but it can tell you what’s happening with your PDFs after download.” PDFSalesLeads allows publishers to embed forms inside documents and survey readers as they engage in the content. Because documents are viewable using Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader, PDFSalesLeads provides a transparent reader experience and PDFSalesLeads seamlessly integrates into any CRM system including SalesForce.com.
