For over 20 years, we’ve helped organizations protect and control their most valuable content. During that time, we’ve listened to how customers share information – and one thing has come up repeatedly: sharing isn’t always one way.
Our Digital Rights Management (DRM) has always been strong at controlling access to content you’re distributing – to members, customers, licensees, learners. But increasingly, organizations told us they needed something different too: a secure space where content can travel both ways but be assured by the same level of protection that they get with Vitrium’s DRM product. Where a client can upload documents as well as download them. Where a bidder can submit a response, not just view a data pack. Where a board member, an auditor, or a partner needs to be part of an ongoing exchange, not just a one-time delivery.
This was a gap that our existing product wasn’t built to fill. So, we set out to change that.
Why two-way content sharing matters
Think about the kinds of exchanges that happen every day: a merger and acquisition (M&A) due diligence process between a company and a potential buyer, an accounting firm collecting a client’s payroll records while sharing back draft work papers, a law firm exchanging evidence with opposing counsel, a private equity firm managing years of investor reporting alongside a live fundraise.
These are ongoing, sensitive, back-and-forth exchanges. For a long time, email has been the default tool for managing them and we all know where that can lead: the wrong attachment sent to the wrong person, a password shared alongside the file it’s meant to protect, no way to know who’s actually opened something, and absolutely no way to pull it back once it’s out there.
What we’ve built
Our new platform brings Virtual Data Room (VDR) capabilities together with the DRM controls we’ve spent two decades perfecting. That means organizations get a secure, structured space to exchange documents with the people who need them – clients, bidders, board members, investors, advisers – while still keeping control over the content itself. They can rely on the same DRM controls they know and trust Vitrium to deliver, including watermarking, download and print restrictions, expiry dates, and instant revocation.
Why Now
We didn’t want to build a VDR just to have one. We wanted to build one that carries the same DRM foundation our customers already trust, so that securing the room and controlling the content within it aren’t two separate problems to solve with two separate tools.
It’s taken time to get here, but it’s been built directly off what our customers have told us they need – and we couldn’t be more excited to finally bring it to you!
