QA Specialist

If you are an extremely diligent, hard-working and self-motivated individual who loves doing QA and testing for software programs, then read more about our role! Vitrium is looking to hire a full-time contractor in the UK/Dorset region. The role will report to our Director based in Vancouver, Canada but you'll work day-to-day with our Technical Support & QA Manager based in the UK.

About You

You have an eye for detail and love following software testing steps. You also love digging into software to ensure it will be released with no bugs! If you find bugs, then you will follow protocols for flagging them in the company's appropriate system. You are process-oriented and extremely detail-oriented. You love to work independently but can also communicate and collaborate with others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough quality assurance measures for all software releases 
  • Run through a series of repetitive tests & track these in the company's master test plan 
  • File bugs in the company’s JIRA system and re-test when they are fixed
  • Manage the company’s master test plan & add test cases when new features are released
  • Assist in building tools and automated frameworks that reduce manual testing
  • Contribute to new ideas for the company's software to improve usability or efficiency 

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma computer science, software engineering, or other relevant education
  • 3+ years of experience in software QA and testing
  • Exceptional organizational & time management skills 
  • Strong written & verbal communications skills
  • Strong technical acumen & keen attention to detail
  • Experience testing on Windows, Mac and mobile environments (iOS, Android)
  • Able to prioritize & work under tight timelines
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience testing web-based applications
  • Experience using Browserstack or similar tools  
  • Experience using JIRA
